Best of Care, Inc. employees Christine Strachan and Stacey Kelsey receive 2015 Cluster awards from South Shore Elder Services

Braintree, Mass., December 16, 2015Two Best of Care Inc. employees, Homemaker Christine Strachan (a resident of Hanson, MA) and Homemaker-Home Health Aide Stacey Kelsey (a resident of Randolph, MA) have received awards from South Shore Elder Services in recognition of their commitment and dedication to senior clients in the region.

In just 18 months, Strachan who received South Shore Elder Services Outstanding Employee award has distinguished herself as one of Best of Care’s hardest-working and most dedicated employees.

Strachan works with clients who live at one of South Shore Elder Services senior group (cluster) sites in Weymouth, ably managing difficult situations to help residents in a professional and caring manner. Whenever there is a request for immediate assistance, Christine is on the top of the list to be called. She has helped senior clients even after finishing her schedule for the day. She continually educates herself about caregiving topics through regular training sessions.

Kelsey, who has worked for Best of Care since May 2013, received South Shore Elder Services Snow Hero Award. Initially hired as a homemaker, Kelsey received her home health aide certification through Red Cross training.

During one of winter 2015’s major snowstorms, Kelsey worked several round-the-clock day and night shifts to care for a Hingham client with complex needs who depends on caregivers for homemaking, personal care and companionship. When other caregivers were unable to make their shifts due to heavy snow, Kelsey stayed the extra time to ensure that the client was safe and happy.

During one snowstorm, Kelsey spent one hour shoveling a parking spot out for herself at a client’s apartment complex in order to provide home care scheduled that day.
