Best of Care Adds CareAcademy to Its Training and Education

In addition to Best of Care’s partnership with the Quincy College in Massachusetts, home health aide non-credit training program, The American Red Cross and Catholic Charities in Brockton and South Boston offer home health aide and nurse assistant training programs. Those who complete these programs, receive their certification and pass Best of Care’s internal exam are eligible for consideration as home health aides.

Home Health Aide Positions (require professional certification)

  • Provide assistance in and out of a bathroom and with toileting
  • Provide assistance with ambulation and transfers
  • Implement physical therapy and exercise programs
  • Prepare meals
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Take and monitor clients’ vital signs

Homemaker Positions (does not require certification)

  • Household management
  • Kitchen maintenance
  • General cleaning
  • Meal preparation
  • Shopping and errands
  • Laundry service
  • Minor personal care
  • General companionship
